The Couple of the Week

So we're going to start off this brand new series of "The Couple of the Week" with a no brainer.

Natsu x Lucy : Fairy Tail

Sorry NaLi and Nerza fans. I LOVE this couple and cannot get enough of them, I know they're not together yet, but it's only a matter of time, they're freakin cute together and there's nothing you can say that will stop me from thinking that. To prove how cute they are to everyone, the believers and the non believers, please enjoy these screen shots of the cutest couple in Fairy Tail.

Not only do these two have a solid friendship but they genuinely trust and respect each other. They have probably the most Fairy Tail pride out of the guild and are not afraid to show it, and their undying loyalty will power them through until the end.

These two have been through so much together that they both know just how to make the other feel better which is very important in any good relationship, so of course they will be together forever.

Neither of them is afraid to be who they truly are in front of each other, and not to mention they still care for each other even after they know most of their secrets.

Another thing, they are both sturdy as hell, I'm pretty sure Lucy has won tons of brownie points in the eyes of Natsu because of her ability to take  a hit and keep on going. Even when Lucy runs out of magic she is not so quick to get up, the hope is strong in this one.

Also,  all things aside, was ANYBODY else going to catch him? Natsu was about to plummet to his death and everyone but Lucy just stood there and watched it happen, I know you're tired, they were all tired, but homeboy was about to kick it. Yet another reason why Nerza would never work, she didn't catch him. Not to mention THEY are the brother/sister relationship, not NaLu.

They always go into battle together and I love it, I just really wish that Lucy had a spirit that could use fire so that she could unison raid with him, wouldn't that be awesome?? Answer: yes, yes it would.

This scene destroyed my tear ducts, we finally got to see exactly to what extent Natsu truly cares for Lucy and it was amazing, but truly sad at the same time. No one should have to see their lady love die right in front of their very eyes.

Not to mention that these two have both changed each other for the better, Lucy, though she didn't know it really did help Natsu to grow as a wizard, because it wasn't until she joined Fairy Tail that Natsu was truly seen as a major player. It was definitely because she always believed in him, and he gained strength from being in her presence.

As far as Lucy, she really transformed as not only a wizard as her power began to grow, but as a person. She learned to put your friends above all else and keep fighting until you win, which is definitely something that she already had, but through meeting Natsu that fire was mega ignited and I love it.

The only way that they can work on their relationship, in my eyes, is that I want Natsu to realize that he needs to realize that he doesn't have to do everything on his own. It's okay to ask from help, and Lucy is more than willing to help him out, and her power is better than ever, am I right?? Those of you who read the most recent chapters!

Even with that flaw aside, they belong together, and I will not rest until it happens! NaLu for life!!

Girl Power!

Being a girl myself, I tend to root for strong female characters, or actually even weakish female characters in the hopes that they're going to get stronger. Along with watching female characters in anime or manga that are pretty OP, I also love playing female characters in video games.

So, here's a list of my top 5 favorite female characters in any sort of animated media (in no particular order)!

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Seriously, this chick is badass! She doesn't have any magical powers, but still she uses all weapons and materials at her disposal to make the most of her situations and overcome strong enemies.

Mikoto Misaka: A Certain Scientific Railgun

Misaka definitely has one of the cooler powers I've ever seen someone have, and I'm pretty sure this is the power I would want if I had magical ability. Who doesn't want to control electric waves?? Soooo cooooooool!

Usagi Tsukino: Sailor Moon

Call her a crybaby all you want but when it comes down to it this girl can really but up a fight. Once she gets serious there's no stopping her. Not to mention she's got a super loyal squad on her side that she can always depend on. Moon Prism Power, Makeup!

Lilith: Borderlands

She may come off a little intense, but her power is not something to be messed with. Lilith is all action and I love her phase walk power!

Lucy Heartfilia: Fairy Tail

Even though she started out pretty weak and insecure of her magic, Lucy has totally transformed over the course of Fairy Tail. Seriously, summoning three celestial spirits at once, Urano Metria, summoning the celestial spirit king, and getting a super awesome power up from Aquarius!! The way I see it she's only getting stronger and I'm so excited to see where her powers grow from here. I just wish that someone other than the enemy she destroyed got to see how much power she has...

My Sketchbook: Lucy Heartfilia-Aquarius WIP

Hey, remember that old, old WIP I started a couple months ago? Yeah, haven't touched it for awhile...until today! You know, I think I have a thing for hiatuses and forgetting to post and draw and also be a person (read: too much ramen, not enough sleep). Um, whoops?

Here's a picture of my last update (for reference):

Whaaaat? I'm not quite sure about the style I've picked yet (gotta try out all kinds) BUT I'm really liking the improvements and seeing the compare and contrast. Works in progress--seeing others'-- are my jam and to have my own is super exciting because this is the first time I've ever kept a digital sketchbook. Already, I'm a fan. I have to give it up. I fought against the transition to digital drawing for awhile, pretty much all my life actually (no idea why), yet I'm enjoying the new media, experimenting with different brushes and textures and being able to make a brighter more interesting looking work more quickly and differently. It's a bit of a challenge, getting over the learning curve of using a digital tablet and it's been years since I've actually sat down and drawn, but I love it like I never stopped.

So yeah...with this I'm thinking of keeping a record of how I like my tablet, drawing programs, learning to create art digitally, etc. Working title is still my sketchbooks series. It'll mostly just be me sitting around making fan art in different styles, which...what else is new. SO! What do you think?

September Shipping: Tumblr Challenge, Question 22, "Which of your ships have the best chemistry?"

I'm going to have to go with my tried and true, my go-to. Guys...it's Nalu again.

C'mon you guys. They aren't together and yet everyone knows they are so going to be together. Best friendship chemistry is the best type of relationship chemistry because they are totally in love, they will protect each other at all costs, and they can hang and can make each other laugh. I love it. They will never not be my answer.

Boom. Natsu x Lucy. Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.

The Tortoise and The Hare

Fairy Tail seems to weirdly reference the tortoise and the hare an awful lot for there to not be anything going on there, not to mention that Mashima never introduces something into his work that he doesn't fully intend on bringing back up later. That being said, Ariel and I were talking today about where we thought the manga is going to go as far as the final arc and we would be pretty excited to see the tortoise and the hare trope come up again at the very end to represent Natsu and Lucy, Natsu being the hare and Lucy being the tortoise.

Since we all know that Natsu and Lucy are going to end up together because they are the cutest, but I digress, I think it would be pretty awesome if the final battle were between the two of them. A lot of people think that Lucy's magic is not comparable to Natsu's because he dominates most of the boss battles and not to mention the fact that everyone reveres dragon slayer magic as being on a completely new level from all other magic, but I do think that we are all overlooking Lucy and her developing abilities, most of the wizards in Fairy Tail have been practicing their magic on pretty intense levels since they were super young and therefore it makes sense that their magic is all at a certain level for their age. But we have to remember that Lucy didn't get to truly start developing her magic skills until she was 17 when she ran away from home and started living on her own, not to mention that celestial spirit magic is still a mystery to most people especially since all of the celestial spirit wizards were taken out in the Starry Sky arc with the exception of Lucy and Yukino and so no one really knows just what celestial spirit magic is capable of.

This brings me to our theory, the idea that Natsu (the hare) will eventually have to battle Lucy (the tortoise) in the final arc of Fairy Tail, or possibly at the end of the Tartaros arc, but then we would have to deal with the whole Gray ice demon slayer magic thing and that is a different story for a different time. But in keeping with the tortoise and the hare trope, and if we acknowledge Lucy as the tortoise, her powers may have developed slower but they will eventually catch up to everyone else and be able to reach her full potential in order to possibly surpass even Natsu who was able to develop his power rather quickly by being forced to fight so many strong bosses, while Lucy's has had to develop slower because she generally hangs back and lets others take care of the enemies unless it is absolutely necessary that she be the one who handles the fights.

We were able to see in "Surfing Lucy" she does have the ability to hold her own against powerful enemies when she needs to save her friends, and obviously her magic ability can only go up from here. But anyways, I think it would be a perfect way to end the series having the two face off against each other in one ultimate battle, but of course by "defeating" Natsu, she is really just helping him to realize that he loves Fairy Tail and help him become unpossessed so that the two of them will be able to fight together to take down the final enemy. But that's just one thought and we still have tons of theories as to what we think will happen over the course of the manga. If you have any opinions on where you think the manga is going be sure to let us know and we can have conversations about this especially since we're always down to talk about Fairy Tail!! Talk to you guys later.
