30 Day Anime Challenge Day 3

Favorite Male Anime Character Ever. 

NOTE: If you were looking for a character with thoroughly fleshed-out personality with über character development...don't look at me. I'm just here for a good time. 

Kitamura, Yuusaku "Toradora!"

This is a weird choice, yeah? Well, I don't exactly know what to tell you except that he is one of the most likable characters I've ever come across in my adventures in anime. First viewing, I did not think that I would like his character, but he won me over with his unexpected hilarity, kindness, and... fanservice? (Yup) Plus, while he and Taiga would have been disastrous as a couple, he was a superior to Ryuuji in every way. Just, like, as a person.

Not to mention, homeboy certainly sealed the deal with his sexy santa scene.

"DO YOU THINK I'M SEXY"

Honorable mention goes to the paper boy in "Fruits Basket" who killed it with his one and only line in the whole show. Again, super random, but if you haven't been privy to this beautiful scene, I urge you to ooch your booty on down and watch the heck out of this golden scene. (Also, Fruits Basket is amazing, so there's no downside to this)

"It is I, your every reliable local paper boy, here to deliver the news of the day!" 

Andi's Fave Five: Anime Ships

So this week as a part of a new series I'm trying out, I'm gonna list my current fave five ships for y'all. These may or may not be cannon, but regardless, I love them, also, these are in no particular order. No regrets. Enjoy.

September Shipping: Tumblr Challenge, Question 12, "Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together?"

Toradora! Taiga x Ryuuji

Most recently, the biggest disappointment I've had was in Toradora! Taiga and Ryuuji.

They had so much promise. I loved getting to see their relationship grow out of a deep friendship. In so many ways they compliment each other perfectly, there was no pretense, and most importantly they didn't put each other up on pedestals. By all standards their relationship should have work out beautifully...plus the show itself was highly entertaining, funny, and also incredibly heartbreaking at times...

BUT! And a huge but here (haha, big butts) the ending just seemed so rushed. And I'm mostly just talking about the last two episodes here. I think maybe it's like their relationship was built up so much that by the time they got together maybe there was nowhere else to go but to get WAY TOO AHEAD OF OURSELVES...

#Is this really the best course of action...are we not going to talk about this first? 















I just- it breaks my heart to think these two characters, which I've now spent countless hours growing attached to, are just setting themselves up for disaster.

*Sigh* Buuuut in retrospect, maybe it's just that these two characters could never have achieved a "normal" happy ending. Their personalities simply have too many sharp edges for a clean, pretty wrap-up.

That being said, I'd still watch it again. And again and again. I mean look at these cuties.
